We’re supporting a campaign by our waste collection operator Biffa, to raise awareness about reckless driving on pavements that can be particularly dangerous to their staff.

So far in 2024, across East Sussex waste collections, crews have reported 57 separate incidents of motorists driving over pavements. Reckless driving puts many employees and waste operators, local residents, and pedestrians in our towns and villages at risk. If you witness an incident, please report it to Sussex Police through Operation Crackdown (The Sussex Police/Safer Roads Partnership portal for reporting careless, dangerous, or aggressive driving).
