Gambling Act Statement of Principles 2025

Status: Current

Gambling Act 2005 - Rother District Council’s Gambling Act Statement of Principles for 2025 to 2028.

The Gambling Act 2005 requires the Council to prepare and publish a statement of principles every three years. It includes the rules for issuing licences. We are consulting on our draft principles to 19 Nov 2024.

The principles provide a framework within which decisions related to gambling will be made.

Part A sets out the general information about the objectives and the roles and rules for authorities and interested parties, including for the council as the licensing authority.

Part B sets out the rules for premises licences. For example, covering adult gaming centres, family entertainment centres through to travelling fairs.

Part C sets out the rules for permits, temporary and occasional use notices. Covering gaming machines, prize gaming permits, club gaming and small society lotteries, amongst others.

The document (insert attached) sets out how we will undertake our functions in relation to the Act. Please open or download the draft document and read it before answering.
