A meeting is taking place in the Council Chamber at the Town Hall on Thursday 17th October at 6pm to launch the Rother Business Crime Partnership & DISC.

The newly formed Business Crime Partnership (BCP) for Rother District will see the council, local businesses and the police working together to keep our streets and communities safer. The scheme is suitable for all types of business and any venue that may be experiencing anti-social behaviour.

Please note spaces are limited and Business will need to sign up prior to attending the launch. Businesses which wish join Rother District Business Crime Partnership and gain free access to DISC should email communitysafety@rother.gov.uk

The BCP will use DISC – a secure app for information-sharing and reporting business crime and anti-social behaviour – that is already used in over 550 towns and city centres nationwide. DISC can be used on mobile phones, includes instant messaging, and reports directly to the police. It enables businesses to upload information, incidents, CCTV Images and photos, and acts as a platform to alert others to offenders and issues as well as swift direct crime reporting to the police. Access to DISC will be free for BCP members for at least two and a half years.

Businesses that sign up to the scheme will be shown a demonstration and hear from the police and other partners about how the scheme will work and how other initiatives will work alongside it. The initial focus is on shoplifting in Bexhill but will be rolled out to Battle and Rye and across Rother District. We are also developing the scheme to cover anti social behaviour, and the nighttime economy.
