Are you confident, self-motivated and experienced in working with the general public in a public safety role?

Do you enjoy a varied and challenging role which includes spending a significant amount of time outdoors in all weathers?

We have an opportunity for enthusiastic and committed applicants to join our Coastal Operations team based primarily at Camber Sands, although Beach Patrol staff may also be asked to work at other Rother beaches including Bexhill. The successful applicants will support the Coastal Operations Officers with the safe and effective management of the Council’s beaches and Camber car parks.

Candidates will have excellent communication skills and the ability to diffuse difficult situations. Ideally, you will have previous experience in a similar role. The nature of these roles is challenging, and involve working under pressure, but the right candidates will find it motivating and rewarding.

Beach Patrol staff are a vital part of our summer provision, supporting our Coastal Operations Officers in providing information and guidance to visitors to our beaches, administering first aid, and patrolling the beaches to ensure the safety of all members of the public.

Full and part time positions may be available. Full training will be provided. The roles may involve flexible weekend working.

If you would like an informal discussion regarding these vacancies, please contact Sam Stone, Coastal Operations Team Leader via email: sam.stone@rother.gov.uk
