Housing and Homelessness Strategy

We invited you to look at the background information about homelessness, housing need and stock condition and answer our consultation questions.

The Council has an existing Housing and Homelessness Strategy, which is being reviewed and updated.

We consulted on a set of three proposed priorities for a new strategy:

  • Reducing demand: prevent and reduce homelessness
  • Increasing supply: maximise the supply of high quality affordable housing in urban and rural areas
  • Improving quality: ensure homes are warm, healthy, and well maintained

The strategy will set out how we will deliver our housing and homelessness services in the future.

You may find it useful to read the context and issues for housing and homelessness in the PowerPoint presentation below. This presentation was given on 21 November 2018 at a joint conference for Hastings and Rother local organisations that work in housing and homelessness in both districts.  Please note the facts and figures are for both districts and the relevant slides are from 4 to 17.
