Street Collection Licence allows you to collect money on the street. These Licences are valid for one day only and when you apply we will check that no other collections are taking place in the same area on the same day.

Please note: Conditions have been changed so that licences will only be approved for charities registered with the Charity Commission or known locally.  Only one collection will be allowed in any one area per day and that profits go to the charity with only reasonable expenses being deducted.

Please also note that people working for charities who try to get the public to sign up to direct debits in the street to support a charity, do not need a street collection permit but their actions are regulated by the Public Fundraising Regulatory Association. Tacit consent

Tacit consent does not apply to Street Collection Licences.

Consumer complaint

We would always advise that in the event of a complaint the first contact is made with the trader by you – preferably in the form a letter (with proof of delivery). If that has not worked gov.uk can offer advice on Consumer Protection Rights.
