The Council set the Band 'D' Council Tax for Rother District at £161.19, an increase of 2.9% over last year's figure of £156.61. This means the amount of £3.10 per week, an increase of just 9p, is payable for the 60 different services provided by Rother District Council, by people living in a Band 'D' property. This is still the lowest Council Tax in East Sussex.

East Sussex County Council had earlier set its Band 'D' amount at £1,158.30 (2.7% increase), the Sussex Police Authority had set its Band 'D' amount at £138.42 (4.9% increase) and East Sussex Fire Authority had set its Band 'D' amount at £81.86 (2.2% increase). The total, excluding individual Parish or Town Council amounts, is therefore £1,539.77, an overall increase of 2.7%.
