View the Neighbourhood Plan for Ticehurst

People in Ticehurst are being given an opportunity to view a plan which will shape the future of the parish.

Ticehurst Parish Council has submitted a final version of its Neighbourhood Plan, which identifies sites for future development, to Rother District Council for formal consultation.

Residents, landowners, local organisations, developers and other interested parties are being invited to submit representations relating to the Plan from Friday, November 9 2018.

Representations received by the deadline of December 21 2018 will be passed to an independent examiner who will make recommendations on whether the Plan should progress to a local referendum.

A vote in favour by a majority of those taking part in a referendum would result in the plan becoming part of the district council's statutory development plan and would be a key document with which planning applications in the parish are determined.

Cllr Gillian Johnson, Rother District Council cabinet member for strategic planning, said: "I'd encourage people in Ticehurst to have a look at the Plan, which is an important document determining how the parish develops in the future."

Copies of the plan and supporting documents can be viewed online at or in person at The Village Store, High Street, Ticehurst; Battle Library; or Bexhill Community Help Point, at the Town Hall.

People can make their views known by submitting a representation form online or by filling in the relevant form downloaded from the website via email to or by post to Service Manager - Strategy and Planning, Rother District Council, Town Hall, Bexhill-on-Sea, TN39 3JX.

All representations must be received by the no later than 4.30pm on Friday, December 21 2018. Full details of how to submit the forms are set out on the council's website and at Battle Library and Bexhill Community Help Point at the Town Hall.
