Rye Water Outage Update from Southern Water

We are pleased to say we are now restoring water to our networks and a number of our customers in Camber and Rye should already see their supply back or will see it restored in the coming hours.

In order to minimise further disruption to our customers we are doing this under a carefully planned, phased approach. Because of this, it may take some time to refill the whole network and we will continue to update on progress as it happens.

While supplies are being restored to TN31 to TN36 post code area, we would like to warn people this is a complex task and we cannot yet guarantee exactly when supplies will be fully restored to all customers.

Customers' whose supply has been affected may notice some discolouration or low pressure at first; this is completely normal when there's been a disruption to the supply and is only temporary.

In addition to continuing to restore supplies, we still have teams visiting vulnerable customers to keep them supplied with bottled water.

Southern Water has also been keeping three sites supplied with bottled water. So far more than 68,000 litres of bottled water have been delivered to the sites and a further 24,000 litres are being delivered.

The sites are:

  • Western Car Park, New Lydd Rd, TN31 7RB
  • Rye Creative Centre, New Road TN31 7L
  • Community Associations, Sea Road, Winchelsea Beach,TN36 4JZ
