Byelaws relevant to the beach areas of Rother District are listed below:

Byelaws for Promenades

Cycling along the promenade between Galley Hill and West Parade public conveniences was introduced as part of a review of the promenade Byelaws in 2012. At that time, consultation was undertaken with residents, local groups and professional support organisations for people with disabilities and sight impairments; the results suggested that Rother District Council adopt a shared space with pedestrian priority and install signage along the promenade to advise users. Subsequently, on the 1st July of 2013, the CouncilĀ resolved that Bexhill Promenade between Galley Hill and its limit adjacent to West Parade public conveniences be designated as a cycle route to permit its use by cyclists in accordance with Byelaw 3 (2).
