Regulation 14 Pre-submission consultation

In accordance with the Neighbourhood Planning (General) Regulations 2012, notice is given that a formal pre-submission public consultation on the draft Battle Civil Parish Neighbourhood Plan will begin on Monday 20 January 2020 for a period of six weeks ending at 5.00 pm on Sunday 1 March 2020.

This consultation is being run by the Battle Neighbourhood Plan Steering Group in conjunction with Battle Town Council.

How to view the draft Plan

The draft Neighbourhood Plan will be accessible to view at the following locations from 20 January 2020:

  • On the Battle Neighbourhood Plan website (includes Supporting documents)
     
  • On request from the Clerk to Battle Town Council, by email to: clerk@battletowncouncil.gov.uk or by post to: The Almonry, High Street, Battle, East Sussex, TN33 0EA
     
  • For inspection at the following location: Battle Library, Netherfield Village Shop, Memorial Hall, The Almonry and the Blackhorse Public House, Telham
     
  • At the "drop-in" sessions:

    Saturday 1 February: 10am to 12noon at The Almonry, Battle and 1pm to 3pm at Netherfield Village Store

    Thursday 13 February: 3pm to 5pm at Netherfield Village Store and 6pm to 8pm at The Almonry, Battle

How to make comments on the draft Plan

Comments should be made in writing and include the name and address of the person making the comments. A comments form is available at the above locations and is also on the Battle Neighbourhood Plan website.

Please make comments as specific as possible, quoting the relevant policy or paragraph number(s).

To be kept updated on the progress of the Neighbourhood Development Plan, please refer to the website.

Send your comments to the Battle Civil Parish Neighbourhood Plan Steering Group by:

All comments must be received by 5.00 pm on Sunday 1 March 2020. These will be considered by the Steering Group and will help shape the final Plan. A Consultation Statement, including a summary of the main issues and concerns raised and how these were considered, will be published together with the final Plan.

Rother District Council provided a formal SEA Screening Opinion for the Battle Civil Parish Neighbourhood Plan.

Designation of Battle Parish as a Neighbourhood Area (Regulation 7)

Rother District Council confirmed that the marked area shown on the submitted map (being that of Battle Parish) was formally designated as a Neighbourhood Area.

Application for the designation of Battle Parish as a Neighbourhood Area (Regulation 5)
